  • 1.  Endpoint Protection Manager 11.0.5 stopped working

    I recently ran Windows Update on my Windows 2003 Standard Edition Server Service Pack 2.  Since then, the EPM service will start and then stop.  It give no information aside from a three entries in the System log:

    7035 - The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service was successfully sent a start control.

    7036 - The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service entered the running state.

    7036 - The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service entered the stopped state.

     

    There is nothing else in the System Log with nothing in the Security or Application logs to indicate the cause. 

    I did find a few threads that mentioned IIS having a potential problem.  It also mentioned JRE  being a possible problem.  I removed all Java and installed JRE 1.2.2 with no change.

    It is SEPM 11.0.5 that I am working with.  Any ideas or suggestions?

    I would recommend upgrading to the latest version, RU6 MP1.

    However, since you are on 11.0.5, you need to upgrade to RU6a, then upgrade to RU6 MP1.
