  • 1.  Is Endpoint Protection Manager 12 supported on Terminal Server 2003

    Posted Jun 26, 2012 05:48 PM

I see articles on installing the client on terminal server. I need to know if it is supported for me to install SEP Manager on Server 2003 TS.

If so I would also like to know if there is anything to watch out for on the installation, except for placing the TS in install mode, etc..

    Exact version is: Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.1_MP1

    Thanks

Using Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on Terminal Servers

While it is possible to run the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on a terminal server, it is not

recommended if the terminal server is to be hosting a large number of terminal sessions due to the

performance overhead of the Manager services, particularly when updating definitions and

    running the Java console.

If you wish to install the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on a terminal server, there are no

specific recommendations for doing this, please refer to the installation PDF on the Symantec

    Endpoint Protection 11.0 CD1.

Thank you for the information. This TS runs about 20 user sessions. I don't consider this to be a large number. I'll probably go ahead with the install.
