    Hi There,
I'm running Endpoint Protection Center on a Windows 2008R2 server, and it was running fine for a couple of weeks but the embedded database will not start now.
This is the third time i've re-installed this and i'm getting frustrated and annoyed wasting my time with it.
I'm getting an Event ID of 1 from ASA9.0 saying there is a problem with the installed program.
I've checked the ODBC connections which are ok, but the database service will not start (from the services.msc tool)
I can get the database started manually by using this commandline:

    dbsrv9.exe -n SPC_SERVER "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Protection Center\db\sem5.db"
I can run the ODBC tests which work fine (after the login info is entered). But when i try to connect from the Endpoint Management program it just hangs.
I've run DB validator which confirms the DB is fine and there are no problems, so it seems to be something to do with the Embedded database service.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can't keep removing and re-installing it every two weeks!

    Thanks

As i have said, the database itself is fine and starts up manually and DB validator confirmed it is fine.
I've already tried repairing it twice as well.

Which are the other softwares present in this server?

IIS7.5, Sharepoint Services 3, Numara TrackIT9, and Endpoint, that's all.

Try running the SEP support tool and see if any errors are generated. You can rename the output file  to .txt and paste it back here in the thread.
