I just installed Symantec Endpoint Protection now I can't print on my wireless printer.  I have it installed on a ThinkPad T61 running Windows XP.  Is there a fix available to resolve this problem?  Please advise.

Update

I just disabled Network Threat Protection and tried to print...it worked!  How do I fix this?  Something in network threat protection is blocking the ip address.  Please advise.  Thanks.

  Create a new default

Create a new default firewall policy with all the new rules and assigned it to all the groups in the manager.

Hi

Please do the following:

Check the Security Logs under Client Management for Denial of Service Detections for the printer's IP address to confirm the issue.

To resolve the issue you will need to disable Denial of Service detection within your Instrusion Prevention policy or you will need to add the printer's IP address in "Excluded Hosts."

To add the printer to "Excluded Hosts":

1.  Open your Intrusion Prevention Policy.

2.  Choose to Settings on the left.

3.  Check the box for Enable excluded hosts and then click the Excluded Hosts... button.

4.  Add the IP address of your printer and choose Okay.

Regards

Questions and Suggestion

Hello,

Could please let us know -

1) What version of SEP 11.x have you installed on your machine? Hope you are carrying the Latest version of SEP 11.0.7101.

2) Have you installed SEP on your machine as a Managed Client or Unmanaged?

3) Did you check the Network Threat Protection Logs (Packet Logs,  Traffic Logs) within your SEP client? Probably Network Threat Protection is blocking some packets / host?
