Endpoint Small Business 12 - License Questions

HI,

I'm considering switching to Symantec Endpoint Small Business 12 with a 10 user license.

My question is about licensing.

In 1 year, will my licenses expire so that i can no longer download updates, patches and definition files, or will that continue indefinately and that what i really lose, in 1 year by not renewing, is access to basic technical support?

I"ve been all over the Symantec website and I can't find a straight answer.

Can anyone please advise on how this works?

I really need to know if i'm going to be forced to renew all my licenses in 1 year or risk not being able to get automatic updates.

Hi

Hello Terester,

Yes once the license is expired you need to renew it.
Support again depends on what kind of support you have taken , essential or basic.

This means then, that my clients would stop functioning and live update would no longer work, or does this mean that i would not have access to technical support, if it were needed?

I'm not as concerned about needing technical support as i am about Live Update no longer working/shutting down.

Hi, As your 1 year license

Hi,

As your 1 year license expires, you get a Grace Period of 60 days to renew your license. Nothing will change in these  60 days.

After the grace period has expired, and you still do not have a license with you, then the clients will not get the virus definitions. It would also be violation of the terms to continue using software after that. 

If you want to continue or expend the license, you can contact the licensing team of symantec and they will halp you out.
