  • 1.  Endpoint v12 breaks Filemaker Pro

I am having the same issues with SEP v12 and Filemaker Pro as noted in the post from TrevorWATA on July 23rd, 2014.  Once SEP v12 is installed on the server the clients can no longer connect.  We have about 500 clients and 3 Filemaker servers running on 2008 and they also lose connectivity with each other. We have tried using the unmanaged client and turned off features until there is hardly any security at all but nothing seemed to work short of going back to v11. In the forum it was decided to create a support case for Trevor but the solution was never posted.

What was the resolution to this problem?

Any input would be greatly appreciated as our company will EOL v11 by Jan. 5 2015.

    Thank you, Mike

Do you have the firewall enabled? If so, you need to create a rule to allow. You can check the traffic log to see what's being blocked.

Does it work if you install only the basic protection, antivirus and antispyware?

    Have you tried with 12.1.5?

I would assume that the firewall was enabled but we had to uninstall it and go back to v11. In an enterprise environment we can only do maintenance after hours so I am trying to arrange some down time to try installing v12 again. We are behind a DMZ and another firewall so we are already pretty well protected. I will try disabling the SEP firewall to see if that makes a difference and go from there.  Our current version is 12.1.4 but we have no control over the version that is approved by our security group.  Thank you.

It is possible you didn't have the firewall enabled in 11.x but did in 12.1? A quick test of disabling components will usually pinpoint it.
