    Hallo Community!

    Ich bin in einem neuen Unternehmen mit Symantec Endpoint Protection betraut worden. Ich kenne das Produkt ehrlich gesagt garnicht und soll a) es administrieren und b) von Version 11 auf 12 upgraden.

    Vorher war ich sehr vertraut mit Kaspersky ... also ist die AV-Welt keine Neue für mich. Und da ich auch ehrlich gesagt kein Interesse daran habe mich durch endlose Veröffentlichungen zu quälen, bis ich an ein paar technische Informationen gelangt bin, wage ich den Schritt hier über dieses Forum.

    Mich interessieren sowohl Administrationshandbücher, Upgrade-/Migrationsszenarien, Troubleshooting- und BestPractises.

    Z.B.
    - macht ein Upgrade von v11 auf 12 Sinn oder liebe eine gepflegte Neuinstallation?
    - Wie funktioniert der Client-RollOut? Paketierung (AD/.MSI) oder per Agenten-Push oder?
    - Ausschluß bestimmer Prozesse, Verzeichnisse auf den Zielgeräten
    - DeviceControl
    - weitere integrierte Module (Firewall?)
    und so weiter und so fort...

    Wie geschrieben: Mit Kaspersky bin ich sehr familiär, mit SEP (noch) nicht ...

    Ich bedanke mich schon einmal vorab für alle hilfreichen Informationen!

    A: Upgrade ist bestimmt einfacher - da sind die Gruppen, Einstellungen und Richtilinien alles beibehalten, muss man nicht alles neu erstellen

     


    - Wie funktioniert der Client-RollOut? Paketierung (AD/.MSI) oder per Agenten-Push oder?

    A: In SEP gibt es Client Deployment Wizard - Installation Packet kann per Push oder Export ausgerollt werden.

    Ich bin dabei eine entsprechende Testumgebung zu erstellen und die alte SEP-Version zu installieren. Dann gehts in Upgradeplanung ;-)
