  • 1.  Enduser Quarantine port need to be open on firewall

    Posted Jan 27, 2009 02:16 AM

    Hi,

    1) I am having an SBG which is kept in DMZ and I want to configure end user Quaranitne so which port needs to be open on firewall.

    2) My SBG excepts mail for 11domains can I configure end user Quarantine only for 1domain but here the scenerio is that all the 11domain users are in one Domain controller.

    3) Can I configure LDAP with enduser Quarantine for 11 thousand users with 11 different domain and all the users are in one Domain controller.

    Hello Laeek,

So the end user quarantine is going to notify users about new messages via email. So as long as you have this set up correctly, they will get notified. For logging in to look at their messages, it is going to be using the UI. So in this case it will be using either port 41080 or 41443. Since you say they are using a VPN, they should be able to access this as long as they can get to the UI from the local environment.

    Hope this helps.

    Please note my edit.

    Hi Tom,

If this Control Center was a clean install of SBG 7.7, then you would login using the standard https port(443) instead of port 41433 which would be the case for older and upgraded versions.

Actually I just took another look at this and while the default is to use the standard https port(443) on new installs after 7.7, it does appear as if https on port 41443 is still listening(I'd actually consider this a bug, as there is no reason to leave the old port open on new installs).  It also looks like the spam notification url references port 41443 by default on new installs which I'd also consider to be a bug.

Ah that's right. Sorry forgot about the recent change. Thank you for the correction Kevin.
