Symantec Mail Security: "Engine Failed: (error:0x3000008), An error occurred while decomposing a message, file write error."

Symptoms:
Logs showing "Engine Failed: (error:0x3000008), An error occurred while decomposing a message, file write error."

• Issue with large PDF files being received inbound or being sent outbound.
• Issue with large attachments either being received inbound or being sent outbound.
• Seeing a lot of files located in the "TMP" and "VAR/TMP" folders on the appliance.

Solution:

Please update to Symantec Mail Security Appliance software version 7.6.0-6 or later.
