    Hi:
I am trying to install the endpoint client onto windows XP machines within a domain evirionment, when file and print shareing is enabled the install fails, when it is disabled the installation works. I would like to have file and print sharing open for all local users by default, as many of the local services depend on it.

    Hi Simon,

It is mandatory to have these ports open.

I'd also wonder - at what point is the failure? Do the files get copied to the computer? (C:\temp\clt-inst)

If the files get copied to C:/temp\clt-inst then there could be some issue with the installer.

I hink files are also not getting copied to client PC, there is some issue with TCP port 139 on the clients.

Simon> can you pls check the sme.

To deploy SEP or any product.File and Print Sharing has to be enabled for the program to copy it locally and install itself. So are you talking about Simple File sharing of Windows Explorer or putting exception for File and Print sharing in the firewall.
