Enterprise Vault 10 Indexing Service keeps stopping

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I just upgraded EV 9.1 to 10. The upgrade went smoothly but afterwards the Indexing service won't start. I get this error.

The Indexing Service could not complete all the required startup routines: Enterprise Vault Server Cache is not configured for this computer. Reason: The device is not ready.Service will be stopped.


One of the errors I saw said the account used to run the service wasn't a member of the local IIS_Users but I checked and it was.

So I resolved the issue. The cache was set to use a directory that did not exist. I created a new EVCache directory and changed the setting to point to this new directory and the service started with no issues.
