This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

We had Enterprise Vault 2007 installed, but before we went live, the decision was made to upgrade to 8.

We did that with some success, but before going live, we decided to un-install Vault, delete all the databases, and re-install a fresh "out-of-the-box" version.

We un-installed the software from both nodes in the active/passive cluster, deleted the Vault databases, then deleted the Vault storage group files and folders.

The install also went smoothly, then came the Configuration.

Everything seemed to go well except the Cluster resources for the Vault services would not create. The report has a line for each service as shown below.

"Create Service Resource for Enterprise Vault Admin Service [Cannot create a file when that file already exists.]"

I cannot find any corrective action to fix this. I suspect that the file that already exists is a leftover, but i'll be darned if I can find it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Dave
