Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP1 error 2850

We just upgraded to EV 2008 SP1 and now are receiving a number of errors in the Event log. I logged a case with Symantec, but they are yet to help me resolve the issue. I was wondering if anyone had seen this before. I ahve made sure there is a consistent mapisvc.inf on the server and the Anti-Vrius exclusions are in place.

Dtrace

Do you have a dtrace of the archiving task when this is happening?  I can see one bug that is fixed (or will be) in EV 8 SP 3 where this is logged for messages which were pending archiving but were then cancelled.

Interesting, because a

Interesting, because a symantec engineer advised me to change the pending shortcut timeout to 0. This is probably causing all these items to be reprocessed. I believe this was to resolve an issue where our a5 queues were backing up.

We have been having all sorts of problems with EV8.0 SP1 with queue buildups and MAPIMutex issues. I am putting on SP2 tonight with fingers crossed that our problems will all go away. EV 7.5 SP5 was solid, I wish we has never upgraded to EV8

Is there another solution than waiting for the SP3 to come out?

I am still seeing lots of these errors post SP3 upgrade. Very annoying, and causes EV to fall over until the services are manually restarted.

Still happening...

I have been using SP3 for about a week and a half and this error just starting popping up like mad in the past few hours. Did anyone find a fix for this?

Hotfix available.

There is a hotfix to resolve this

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/339316.htm

The fix is specifically for Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP3, Build 1845

I've applied it on our environments that have SP3 installed, and it has resolved this issue.

Policy entry

Hello KVS,

It is actually a setting in the archivingpolicy
Mailbox policy, tab advanced, somewhere there.
If you set it to 0, apply policy (run provisioning, sync mailboxes) then run task in report mode. (set tick at report, restart task)

We've applied the hotfix as well but am still seeing the 2850's when the stubbing process takes place. We have an open case with Symantec support and so far no solution. Does anyone here know root cause or some possible fixes?

Thanks.

Hi,

yes, it's the same for me. Error occurrs even after applying the hotfix.
It seems to get less after resetting all shortcuts (timeout policy to 0 and archiving task in report mode).

But the errors are still there, even if less.

It would be nice if you could post a solution here.

Thanks.

Viktor

Do you have any progress there?

Thank you!
