This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello Everyone,

I have a smaller remote office with limited resources (servers).  We currently have an EV 9.0.2 implementation on an 08R2 server.  This is also the only available server we have for our Exch 2010 implementation.

Can someone please confirm whether or not EV and Exch 2010 SP2 can exist on the same server and any associated issues?

Thanks in advance!!!!

The real issue i think you're going to find is that Outlook and Exchange on the same server is not supported and that EV relies on Outlook being on the machine.

It probably will work though but it is not a recommended, supported or tested solution so any issues would be at your own risk and if you do run in to issues and call support, they will advise you to move the EV server to a seperate server.

Also you may end up impacting your outlook users depending on the amount of CPU and disk I/O that both exchange and EV are using

Microsoft do support Outlook on Exchange 2007 and beyond now because Exchange no longer ships with the client side binaries.

I think the IIS conflict that are occuring are most likely down to IIS7 and the "bitness" of the EV WebSite.

All that said, I would never suggest running that configuration for a production environment, and in line with all the other recommendations, avoid doing it.

You will also have problems with IIS conflicts between the two applications mainly they will both be fighting to use the port 80/443, although you specify a different port number for EV in IIS and the Vault Site properties. However this will become unsupported when you run into issues as Alex already mentioned above.

there's a lot of reasons as JW and LCT have already stated but i'll keep it simple in the fact that it's not supported is enough for me to say dont do it.
