This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello There

Wondered if anyone has managed to get the EV Admin console working on a WIndows 7 workstation, I have tried but when I run the installer it come up as an un-supported Operating System. Is Windows & going to be supported in EV8 SP3 ? or will we have to wait for the next full release.

Many thanks

Pat

Try running it in

Try running it in XP Compatibility mode

plus usually it takes 90 days to certify against a major windows release, though i'm sure the main effort will be for the EV Clients on Win7 as opposed to the VAC

Outlook Add-in ...  VAC

Outlook Add-in ...  VAC ...

I've tried the Outlook Add-in on Windows 7 (been running it for several months) without any problems.  I've never tried installing the VAC.  I will check with the certification team tomorrow what's happening with both components and how that relates to 8 SP 3.  We will for sure be aiming to support the Outlook Add-in as soon as possible, but supporting the VAC may lag behind a little (not for issues which might be encountered, but more relating to time constraints in getting the test of it sorted out)

VAC...... The certification

VAC......

The certification guys are currently aiming to test/certify the VAC in the EV 8 SP 4 timeframe against Windows 7.  There are other items higher up the list unfortunately.

It might be possible to run the install with the XP comptability mode (ie on the properties of running setup.exe), or in XP-mode (ie in the virtual environment that Windows 7 allows)

ditto on the outlook add-in

ditto on the outlook add-in in windows 7 x64 with office 2007.
haven't bothered to try the VAC. we keep it on a "utility" box that we rdp to and run most of our admin consoles from so it's not an issue.

I do agree with Rob with the

I do agree with Rob with the Outlook Add-in. I have been using it for the past couple monthes and have not had any problems with the EV Outlook Add-in
Now as far as the VAC goes this is obviously not supported install but I do have the 8.0 SP3 VAC installed on a Windows 7 workstation. I did have issue with the SP2 VAC but the SP3 does install with no problems. As stated by Rob it is not targeted to be officially until the SP4 time frame.

Hi all,

I was able to install VAC on WIndows 7 Enterprise. I had to run Setup in Compatibility mode (Windows XP). I have not had any problems as yet. But I will update you guys if I encounter any issues.

Cheers,
