Enterprise Vault and VMWare ESX 4.0
Updated: 22 May 2010 | 8 comments
Hi folks
I can see from P19 here that Enterprise Vault 8.0 is supported on VMWare ESX 3.5 (the virtualization platform).
However, I can't find any reference to support for ESX 4.0 (vSphere). Does anyone know if it's supported, and if so - where the documentation is?
Many thanks,
IR8

It seem it has not
It seem it has not been tested yet.
I doubt if it will be a problem if your underlying OS (Windows) already compatible with ESX 4.0

Hi IR8,
As ESX 4.0 is currently not in the compatiability guide it means it has not yet been certified for EV.

Hello Everyone, Sorry to dig
Hello Everyone,
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is there any news of when ESX 4 will be supported?
We're in the process of moving from ESX 3.5 to 4.0, and the results have been very positive.
Thanks,
Phil.

Although it is not on the official list yet, we have 2 EV servers running in vShpere 4.0 and there have been no issues to date - it runs great...
Just my 2 cents.
Just don't tell anyone when

Hi Murr38 & MichelZ, Thanks
Hi Murr38 & MichelZ,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I suspect that the performance of EV on vSphere will be even better than ESX 3.5, but the cautious side of me is waiting for the stamp of approval from Symantec.
Thanks again.
Phil.
