This issue has been solved. See solution.

Is there any way to check or validate when is the EV components have been securely backed up before I begin the EV 10 upgrade ?

SQL script is fine with me as long as I can show and convince my manager that all components is backed up properly overnight.

Thks

Well you can run a manual SQL Backup of all the EV databases right before you begin but for the Vault Store Partition and Indexes you will should get that from your backup team.

Thanks Tony, so in this case there is no way to know it if the EV server components have been successfully backed up ?

I *guess* if you're stopped archiving etc, then, the monitoring reports will show that there are 0 items awaiting backup (after the backup has finished successfully)....

Many Thanks,

Honestly should be more concerned about making sure everything is backed up in production normally as opposed to just for this upgrade

With the upgrade it is going to concentrate 100% on databases and won't touch your partitions or index data

And the database backups you can do right from SQL management studio to disk, which I'd recommend anyway so if you do have to roll back you don't have to pull them from tape, you will have them right there

And if you did have to roll back you would only restore the databases, there's be no need to restore the partitions and indexes

Thank you Jesus, that does make sense.

I was just trying to gather some information to put into the Dashboard to notify us daily if there is anything wrong with our EV environment or not.
