Enterprise Vault client failing to deploy via Group Policy

Created: 16 Jan 2014 • Updated: 21 Feb 2014 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

I am trying to deploy Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in 10.0.4 to clients via GPO. Group Policy requires an MSI, but this fails as it relies on calling the setup.exe. Has anyone successfully deployed this? I am at the moment attempting to package this in order to create an MSI that can be deployed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Serena,

You can follow this technote to push the EV Outlook Add-in through a AD GPO:

How to push Enterprise Vault Client extensions via Group Policy
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH66591

If you have any issues with user interaction when deploying the add-in, this technote might help:

Deployment of the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-ons /extensions via an automated deployment method may require End User interaction.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH68990

I hope this helps.
