Enterprise Vault Hardware Upgrade/Migration

Hello -
I am looking to upgrade hardware for our Enterprise Vault server. I will be performing an in-place upgrade to EV 8.0 SP2, and then from there wanted to migrate to the new server. Current server is 2003 32-bit and the new server will be 2008 64-bit. I will be using the same server name to simplify things, but is there anything special that I need to be aware of going from 32bit --> 64bit When I merge the registry from the current server into the new server, will I need to redirect it to 'Wow6432Node'? In addition, I will be moving from SQL 2005 32bit to SQL 2008 64bit. Any insight anyone can provide is appreciated.
Thanks!

Dont do that kind of
Dont do that kind of micration to the new hardware
The easiest way for you to do the move to new hardware is to do a Data Only Disaster Recovery.
That way toy dont need to play with the registry
Moving of SQL is an easy process. make a backup of the databases. Detatch the databases and log files move them to the new server. Rename the new server the same as the old server then attach the databases and logs in the new server
By keeping the SQL server the same name you have no need to make any chages on the EV databases to get them to see the databases on the new SQL server

agreed with Scanner, do the data only recovery from the Admin guide.
As for SQL, if you can't keep the same name follow these steps:

For your EV server it is
For your EV server it is also easier for you if you keep the server name the same.
Install your new server with a temp name
Disable all your EV services.
Copy all your EV data to the new server
Power off the old ev server
Rename the new EV server to the same name as the old
Go through the Data Only DR process as outlined in the Admin guide
Please note for the Data only to work you will need to ensure that the locations of the data on the new server is the same as it was as the old server. (inxexes on G on old and new, Vault stores on F and so on. If the drive letters change then you have a whole lot of work to get it corrected in the database and it will cause you more pain than you need
