Enterprise Vault PST migration
Forgive me for the newbie questions on EV, but I have never actually seen a working installation (:smileyhappy:) and need some confirmation on some basics.
I am trying to do a server driven PST migration. I have run the PST locator task and it has found lots of computers, and lots of PSTs.
In the personal store management/files area I see the PSTs and the status of each is "Not ready" right now. I see a mailbox associated to them.
I think the next step would be to run the Collector task to actually copy these things to the EV server. When I run that task nothing happens. Exactly nothing. Nothing in the logs, nada. I have no error messages to troubleshoot, there's no evidence that it even tried to connect to a client PC or server.
My questions are: should the PSTs show as status of something other than "Not ready" before this will work? Should the computers have an exchange mailbox associated with them? Is there another step I'm missing?
thanks for the assistance, sorry for the fundamental lack of knowledge.
If the PST Locator has been able to determine the ownership of the PST file, the associated Mailbox and its corresponding Archive, then the PST file will have a status of “Ready to copy” in the PSTfiles SQL table. Otherwise, will have a status of “Not ready” and administrator intervention will be required to set the associated Mailbox and change the status to “Ready to copy”. This is done via the Vault Administration Console

Tony
