Enterprise Vault Selection - access is denied
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 5 comments
Hi
I tried to backup an enterprise vault server with the new agent from BEWS 12. But I get an "access is denied" message. I used also the EV service account, same error. What do I wrong?
thanks

Hi, I'm also having the same problem. Have used all administrator accounts and also tried the "sa" account for SQL databases, but no luck. "Failed to access <EV server> - Access is denied"
Just to complicate matters slightly, the EV SQL database is housed on a seperate server. So when I open Backup Exec and drill down through enterprise vault is references that server name rather than my EV server, but my admin accounts should also be valid on this server.
Backup Exec v12
Windows 2003 Standard r2
Enterprise Vault v7.5
Can anyone help?
It sounds like all of us are having the same problem. I had a support ticket open with Symantec that was bounced around to several techs with no resolution. I completely reinstalled EV and the BE agent, no dice.
I can't get my EV 2007 system backed up with BE 12.0.
Same here, day 2 of the support call, nobody is calling me back, I email and leave messages. not good, we just threw 1.2tb of data in EV and I cannot do incremental backups but I can do fulls. I love BE 12, the tape wasting between EV backups and Exchange Backups has been staggering. We blew our tape purchase budget for the entire year in a 3 month period!
