Hi all,

We are packaging a lot of applications and we have seen that they are some entries in the path that appears on all packages:

What append if we delete this entries in the packages? Does it any damage? Could my packages not work without this entries?

These are added by default when you create a layer and should not be removed.

I know that there are added by default, but my question is:

Is it really a problem if we delete this entries?

There is no simple answer to your question as it depends what exactly is in each layer that you create. However, I do not understand why you want to remove these entries as I cannot see why their presence should cause a problem. I am a great believer in the old adage "If it isn't broke, don't fix it".

Unless these entries are breaking something in your environment, why bother removing them and risking unknown problems?

If you work with MSI installation files, do you also open each MSI and delete empty tables?

Ok, but are these keys really obligatory to be on the package?

Because we have seen on 1 package that if we supress this keys the package work well.

If we have the path entries registry keys in doesn't work.

So the question is: has we really need ??

The keys are not obligatory on the one package that you have suppressed them on and found that it operates OK without the keys.

However, it remains impossible to apply this observation to every other package without testing it first. What works for one package may not work for another. Otherwise, life would be really simple and we would be looking for another career.
