So I've just recently started to use EPMC. This is what I am trying to do. I want to install silently the client on the unmanaged computers. I set up my own client install settings, client install feature sets. And then I go to clients > Find Unmanaged Computers > I find the computer i want to install it on. I set up all the settings for the install package, install settings and featues. Then, Press start installation. On the remote computer I see CMD flash up and then disapear, I see Symantec Endpoint in the start menu. Then 5 minutes later its gone from the start menu, it seems like it stopped its self from running. Also There are still a few computers that have endpoint manager installed and i want to silently uninstall them as well and then reinstall the client.

    Thanks for all the help

I have Symantec Endpoint V 11.0.2000.1567, I can't find my product key so I am unable to update to the new version.
This is running on Windows server 2003 computer

They may be able to find your product key.

So when you deploy SEP.It gets installed on few and fails on few.
Well any install failure first i would ask is SEP_INST.log

6-7 lines above Return value 3
it is located in start-run -%temp%

""Also There are still a few computers that have endpoint manager installed and i want to silently uninstall them as well and then reinstall the client. ""

Do you have Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager installed on few computers or is it just the clients well there is no way of removing SEPM silently.
However you can run cleanwipe silently.
If it is about the clients then In the client install setting select remove previous logs and settings and reset client-server communication"
It would do the same thing as un-install and re-install.

Okay I found out how to silent uninstall the clients, so thats not an issue anymore. But I am still having issues on the install. This is what I tried, I created a few installation settings, on unattended and one silent. I first tried the silent install on a client computer. I checked the processes running and msiexec is running 14%. But then all of a sudden it just stops installing. I checked the log file but it doesn't say much, the last thing it logged was starting msiexec.exe. Which it did but for some reason it stopped. Then I tried the unattended setup, it started the install, went through the process, and then just stops like the silent install. Now I tried the Default Client Installation Settings, Its going through the same as my unattended setup i made. It also just randomly stops the installation without leaving a log file.

Lets Rule out network permissions on these machines.

You can export a package from SEPM. Copy that package to the client machines manually and double click on it to initiate the installation as an administrative user.

I am not suggesting this as a solution, but just to isolate the issue. If you are able to install the SEP client locally, then there are lack of network permissions thats stopping the installation.

However, if you have the same issue installing the package locally, then you an attach the SEP_INST.log to your post.

So that we can take a look at it. Also, since we are troubleshooting installation, lets choose the installation method as unattanded instead of silent.

If the installation rolls back, please try to notice the action being performed by the installer [ e.g. validating installation, installing liveupdate..etc]

Let me know if you need more clarification.

as far as your serial number for SEP is concerned, you will receive an email from licensing symantec, with a pdf attachment that will contain all the information about your purchase.

FYI: a serial number for SEP will start with "M" and it will be a 10 digit number
