I have an Epson Workforce 845 printer that will not print all the time unless I disable Endpoint Potection. I get a message indicating that service is blocked.

What do I need to configure in Endpoint Protection to eliminate this problem; my wife is really yelling at me over this one guys!

    Thank you

You will need to open some ports in the SEP firewall:

    UDP/TCP ports

    For Printing:

    - Open TCP port 14135 and UDP ports 69, 13364, 13621, 13878, and 14135 in your firewall software. See your firewall documentation for details.

Create  firewall rule to allow the application ( The Printer)

Is the machine in Office network with ADC policy to restrict devices? If so, you may have to get in touch with the SEP admin, if you can make the changes, you can follow the above recommendations.

This printer is on my home network.

I added a firewall rule to allow the printer: "EPB9FC1C:WORKFORCE 845"; that didn't solve the problem.

I added a firewall rule to allow the ip address "192.168.1.6"; that didn't solve the problem.

I can print maybe 2-4 times, then I get a message that "Service is denied, Traffic from IP Address 192.168.1.6 is blocked"

I called Epson and get no where as it's a Symantec problem.

At this point, should I just disable the Symantec Network Threat Protection?

This is really frustrating to say the least!

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There is a lot of communication that goes on between a printer and a print client at the time of prinitng.

This is causing you to be blocked (traffic).

Epson creates services and uses ports.

You can either allow the services in the policies of the SPEM or open up the ports for communication.

You can also create a custom firewall rule to allow all traffic to and from the printer.

How do you do the following?

"You can either allow the services in the policies of the SPEM or open up the ports for communication."

    Don't know what SPEM is?

How do you open up the ports?

"You can also create a custom firewall rule to allow all traffic to and from the printer."

As noted above I added the following rules:

I added a firewall rule to allow the printer: "EPB9FC1C:WORKFORCE 845"; that didn't solve the problem.

I added a firewall rule to allow the ip address "192.168.1.6"; that didn't solve the problem.

    Thank you
