I am getting the following error:

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000fed1 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Final error category: Resource Errors
This is a Windows 2003 Standard server, this server was recently upgraded to Backup Exec 10 this never expected any errors before the upgrade.

I got this resolved by applying a couple of hotfixes for Windows 2003/Shadow Copy and running tapeinst.exe to reinstall the tape drivers.
Issue is resolved.
