Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start
We're still using 5.1, one of the servers (win2k3 sp1) stopped backing up and looked like it stopped comunicationg with the backup server. I restarted the netbackup client service which failed to start.
I have reinstalled the client (full de install and then reinstall) but the service still fails to start.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I checked the path to the bpinetd.exe and it is correct, while the service is trying to start the bpinetd process appears but then dies once the error message appears.
There are no logs created during the start of bpinetd.
Does anyone know how I can get some error messsges to give me a clue as to why its failing?
Maybe starting it in a command prompt somehow would be useful, any help would be appreciated.
