Hello,

What version of SEP 12.1 are you trying to install and on what OS?

Could you also assist us in explaining on how are you trying to install? Is that via Migration and Deployment Wizard OR copy / pasting the SEP package on the Local HDD and running the setup file?

Hope you have worked on the Steps provided in the Article below:

SEP installation issue Error 1920 (SepMasterService) failed to start

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH187151

Could you also work on the steps provided below:

  1. Open regedit to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher
  2. Under "TrustedPublisher" look for "Safer" key.
  3. Delete the "Safer" key if it is there.

and

Delete the entry in Image File Executation Option:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\ccSvcHst.exe

and

make sure The SYSTEM and Administrators accounts have full control to the below Directories -

C:\Windows\
C:\Windows\System32\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\
C:\Program Files (x86)\

Hope that helps!!

Hi,

Actually we download the package from the sep manager and write the same into the CD/copy to stick so as to be sent to branches for installation.

Anish

Hello,

I understand, so you may not know on who and how those user may be using the same installation.

Secondly, you may not even know if the user using it for installation has proper privileges for installation, correct?

I would request you to follow few steps -

1) Make sure the User have proper privileges for installation and

2) The Above Directoroies are set to have proper rights.

Hope that helps!!

Why you are not push to SEPM server ?

Thanks In Advance

Hi Ashish,

The very reason for not pushing from SEPM server is because of network slowness.. The bandwith is not enough for the same.

Anish
