This issue has been solved. See solution.

We recently setup a new Win2k8 R2 server which is running EV for Exchange archiving...our version of EV is 9.0.1.

Archiving is working fine, however, i'm seeing alot of instances of the following error in Event Viewer...  I've searched Symantec's KB for this error but only seeing variations of error 2776, not one specifically for 'ThinOrphanedShortcutCheck'...  Anyone know if there's a specific reg key i should add to resolve this??

you're going to have to open

you're going to have to open a case with symantec i'm afraid
Would suggest dtracing ArchiveTask and trying to capture an error as it will be requested, along with the Event Logs to see when the issue occurs, the dtrace will show you which mailbox and which shortcut it was scanning so they can maybe get a copy of it and see if theres any attributes missing or malformed that may be causing the error
