When I boot up in WinPE created from the Ghost Boot Wizard, I get this error whenever my Western Digital MyBook 3 TB external hard drive is connected:

I tried adding the drivers in the WinPE-512 environment in the boot wizard but I receive an error.  However, I can use "drvload" to load the drivers in the winpe environment, which occurs without any errors, however I still see the above error.

A 2Tb or smaller drive will work OK I presume?

Do you have a UEFI bios? Is it enabled? Are you using MBR or GPT formatting on the drive?  Have you tried with a later version of WinPE?  Do you have USB-3 drivers installed in WinPE?

I could try formatting it as a 2 TB partition, havent tried it.  I just used Win 7 to format the drive, how do I format it as a 2 TB drive?  Where/how do I get a later version of WinPE?  I tried installing the drivers in WinPE-512 during the boot wizard, but I kept getting an error, even though the .inf, .sys and .cat files were there.  I used the drvload and I got a success message, but WinPE still couldnt see the drive (checked using gdisk32).

The drivers you use with WinPE V2 need to be Vista 32 bit drivers as WinPE 2 uses the Vista kernel.

However, as you didn't answer my questions about UEFI, etc, all I can suggest is that you search this forum on 3Tb as I seem to recall a past thread on this topic.

I have an Optiplex 760, I dont think that has UEFI.
