Error (41) network connection timed out

Hi,

I use Veritas Netbackup 6.5.2 with solaris 10 and client is windows 2003, i faced error 41 for the first time previously it worked fine.

I have verified all host entries and also increased client connection timeout from 300 to 1800. but still the problem persist.

Please help

Please ensure that you have bpcd log folder on the client.

Test connection from master (and media server if backup is not done by master) as follows:

bptestbpcd -client <client-name> -verbose -debug

Please post output as well as client's bpcd log.

We need to see if client is able to resolve server's IP address to valid SERVER name and if attempt is made to connect back via vnetd.

Client is having a problem with connect-back via vnetd:

get_vnetd_forward_socket: get_string ipc_string failed: 5

 bpcd main: get_vnetd_forward_socket failed: 23

Please check state of bpcd and vnetd in netstat -a output on client.

If there are lots of connections in CLOSE_WAIT state, you can try to restart NBU Client Service, but a reboot might be needed.
