  • 1.  Error after upgrading to SEPM 12.1.5

    We are having a problem after trying to upgrade to SEPM 12.1.5. After upgrading to 12.1.5 we are getting the following error when trying to launch SEPM:

    Failed to Connect to Server.

    Make sure that the server is running and your session has not timed out.

    If you can reach the server but cannot log on, make sure that you provided the correct parameters.

    If you are experiencing network issues, contact your system administrator. Errorcode: 0x8002000

    We have a support ticket # 08237634 and they have been less than useless.

    We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch but we get the same error. We have tried installing on a different Win7 & win2008R2 server and both install fine.

    Has anyone seen this error before? We have an audit coming up and we need to get past this error. Support has been dragging this out for 3 weeks and refuses to escalate the ticket, so we are hoping someone here might have a solution.

    Can you enable FINEST debugging and post the scm-server-0.log here?

    How to debug the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

    Additionally, do you have an account manager? They can get this escalated up the chain to backline support.

    Can you also run the symhelp tool on the SEPM to do some error checking:?

    Download the Symantec Help (SymHelp) diagnostic tool to detect Symantec product issues

    Also, what OS is this on? Do you have teamed NICs on the SEPM?

    Windows 2008R2 Server

    Yes we have a Broadcom Teamed NIC card

    was a reboot tried? 

    can you remove all the versions of Java installed and run a repair of SEPM and try?

    Rebooted multiple times.

    Cannot remove Java, it is needed for primary operation.

    Disabled TEAMed NIC and configured a single NIC, no change.

    Tried the solution in http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH191358, no change.
