This issue has been solved. See solution.

Currently trying to set up a form that will auto create new users using the Active Directory Components withing Workflow.  On filling in all the request user details and clicking create i am constantly getting the error message

"Log Error:
Component Executed: Create User (LogicBase.Components.ActiveDirectory.CreateUserComponent), exit path is 'Error'
Data:
ActiveDirectoryError = "Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: identityValue""

I have looked everywhere and i am unable to find anything that can tell me what this error relates too.

This is actually a known issue, and was fixed in the January 2011 timeframe:

2229013 - Error in 'Create User' component(AD user) when input given via mapping

Basically in old versions of the code, you need to specify a Common Name for the user you'd like to create. With the fix, you don't need to.

If you specify the workflow version you're on, we can probably get it backed into a rollup. Until then, you SHOULD be able to avoid this error by specifying a Common Name

Problem solved was the Commen Name as you mentioned.  We are currently working with Workflow Version 7.1.1401.59
