    Hello,

We recently upgraded our pgp software to PGP Command Line 10.1 build 52 from PGP Command Line 9.9 build 110.

Now, we are facing decryption issues for one of the file. It is a gzipped file which is encrypted. we are getting the below error.

     decrypt (3090:operation failed, bad packet)

The verbose output is as below.

     customer_view.txt.gz.pgp_20110718-205538_37038339_204:decrypt (3188:Version, GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux))
    Decoding file customer_view.txt.gz.pgp_20110718-205538_37038339_204... 99% (3.0GB) customer_view.txt.gz.pgp_20110718-205538_37038339_204:decrypt (3090:operation failed, bad packet)
    Wiping file pgp-2349-0.tmp... 100%
    pgp-2349-0.tmp:decrypt (0:file wiped successfully)

Can you provide some more details about how the file was originally created?  And you can confirm the same file is properly decrypted using version 9.9?

From your brief description, this sounds like a known issue with 10.1 that should be addressed in PGP Command Line 10.2.  10.2 is scheduled for release in early August.

I would need to check as to how the file is created but I can confirm that the file gets decrypted correctly in version 9.

I have pgp 9 running on one of my non-production environments and I was able to decrypt the file without any issues.

Can you provide more information related to the known issue you are referring to?

    Hey,

Can you let me know the issue you were referring to?

I've looked through the issue database and I'm less sure this is the issue I thought it might be.

I do know that there were some zip decompression improvements made in 10.2.  10.2 will be out Real Soon Now (early August) and when it is, please upgrade and report back as to how it works.

Is it just this one file that has the issue?
