I have been happily using Filevault but wanted to give PGP another try since I would like to encrypt my BootCamp partition.  I decrypted the Mac drive so there was no encryption on the SSD in my Retina Macbook Pro.

I have an OSX partition and a Bootcamp partition.  PGP installed in OSX and PGP installed in Windows 7.  I booted into OSX, launched PGP, and told it to encrypt my drive.  It displays my drive, I enter my new passphrase, choose the box for power failure protection, and then click encrypt.  It starts to work for 20 or so seconds then comes back with the below error:

"An Error Occured While Encrypting Your Disc" PGP Error # -1

Any idea what is going on?  I checked the console logs and not a single error from PGP anywhere in the logs that I could find.

This is a common error that customers are receiving when attempting to encrypt their drive on Mac OS X 10.8. Please be aware that PGP Desktop 10.2 up to version 10.2.1 MP3 is not compatible with OS X 10.8. If you  are on OS X 10.8 we plan to have an update out which will be 10.2.1 MP4 soon. Please subscribe to our product alerts page to be notified when this update is available.

Ok so just to be clear:

10.2.1 MP3 is only a fix for 10.7 and will not allow me to encrypt under 10.8.

10.2.1 MP4 will allow me to encrypt my SSD in my Retina MBP under 10.8

@Shiff - correct. 10.2.1 MP4 is the release to be on if you are using Mac OS X 10.8. We just recently verified that we are compatible with Mac OS X 10.8.2 release which is most current as of today.

    Hi,

I have the same "PGPError # -1" problem with my Retina OS X 10.8.2 and PGP version 10.2.1 MP5.

Besides that I see a lot of problems above - can you tell me are they fixed or is it better to leave the issue and to start with PGP on Retina?

    Thanks

    Ups... Typing mistake above :

" - can you tell me are they fixed or is it better to leave the issue and to start with PGP on Retina?" =

= " - can you tell me are they fixed or is it better to leave the issue and not to start with PGP on Retina?"

    Sorry inconvenience
