  • 1.  Error in evaluation activity

    Hi, I have CCS manager and application server installed on a windows server 2008 r2 machine. I have applied all the latest updates that includes PU 2013-02, SCU 2013-3, and PACU 2013-28.

    I have an error while running a Collection-Evaluation-Reporting job on a Windows agent, which is installed locally on the same host as the CCS application server and manager.

    The error message reads: 

    "An error occured in Evaluation activity. Data Query failed: Results storage failed: SystemApplicationException: Database error during results storage."

    My SQL database instance for ccs is on a separate host which is a Windows Server 2012 environment. My SQL Server version is MS SQL server 2008 R2.

     

    However, data collection seems to be working okay. It is only the evaluation that this error occured.

    We get this issue all the time, but not really with the same configuration. We were advised that best practice is to separate out the collection/evaluation job, since the evaluation could theoretcially kick off before the collection has pushed the relevant information for eval to occur.

    Try separating the job for this host, and do collection then evaluation and see if that works as expected.

    you may also want to run the Agent Content update job to make sure the Agent has the latest content as well.   In the Agent view, you would choose from the Agent Management Tasks drop down menu: Agent Content Update.  Then pick the Agent machines and SCU that needs to be pushed to the agent.  Then try it again.
