Error installing Veritas Storage Foundation 4.1
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
When I try to install Storage Foundation 4.1 For Windows in a W2K3 server in spanish, I receive this error:
VPIInstDlgs: Log file initialization failed. Verify that the disk space is sufficient and that you have permissions to write to the User Temp directory.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks,
ANGEL.

Angel--
I have a quick question..
In the Spanish version of Windows, what is the "All Users" directory called? I believe that this may be the problem, as this may be hard-coded into the VPI installer.... The VPI Logs are stored in "Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VERITAS\VPI\log", and this may be what is causing the difficulties.
Thanks,
Drew
This probably has to do with the fact that it's being installed on a Spanish OS. SFW 4.1 is only supported on English OS.
SFW 4.2 supports English OS with localized settings, and SFW 4.3 supports European and Asian localized Windows OS’s.
