Hi,
currently I`m installing a new enviroment at a custemer.
The Server ist Windows 2003 Std x64, with Backup Exec 11d (Build7170) 64 bit. The storege device is a HP Autoloader DAT 72x10.

If i submit a job the jobs hangs with the status "Planed". In the Jobstatus stands "Ready; No mediaservers available".
What is the problem I have?

Hi Gerrytech,

It sounds like you installed the "Central Administration Server" option (CAS).  As per the Backup Exec for Windows Servers v 11d manual "When CASO is installed in a Backup Exec environment, one media server, known as the central administration server, delegates jobs to managed media servers across the network. Job delegation is the automatic load balancing of jobs across available managed media servers in the CASO environment."

If you have CASO installed you could see the "Ready; No media servers are available" after rebooting the server or restarting the Backup Exec services.  To fix this, stop and disable the Removable Storage service.

However, if you do not need this option, I would suggest you uninstall it.

Hopefully, the above answers your question.

Regards,

Christiane
