  • 1.  Error LU1814

    Hello, i installed and configured LiveUpdate Administration Utility on one of my internal servers following the link http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2000100610540448?Open
    I am correctly installing updates, however each time i run LUALL on the client side machine,  i receive the same error LU1814, please note that i followed the instructions provided in the link:
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/techsupp/servlet/ProductMessages?product=LU&version=3.5.0.64&language=French&module=LU&error=1814&build=Symantec

    and i keep having the same error..

    Could anyone specify more details about this error, does it have any other explanation rather than the explained one ?

    Please note that i have created a client host file selecting ftp and specifying the ip adress of the ftp server,and the Login/PWD... and i copied it in the following location C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate

    am i missing something with the configuration?

    I guess u shouldincrease the Internet Time out Limit and clear the dns cache.

    Which is the version of LUA you are using?
    The latest one is 2.2.2.9 .
    Which is the client is it SEP?
    The client is managed or unmanaged?

    I am using version 1.5.4 as i need to run it within a script, is it doable with the web interface?

    Another question i am trying to find Symantec virus definition for symantec v10, however from the logs i see that the clients are not updated and the value "NAVCORP_70" of key ' HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedDefs'of registry on the client does not change...
    However  LiveUpdate reported that all symantec products on the machine are uptodate

    The names of the products that are shown when i run LUALL are:
    -LiveUpdate
    -Symantec Security Software

    and the chosen products on the utility are :
    -LiveUpdate
    -Symantec Antivirus Virus Definition
     
    Here is an extract from the logs,is there a way i can check that the clients have correctly been updated?
