Endpoint Protection

Hi,

I get this error when I try to open the Enterprise Management Console on my local PC

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager cannot display some parts of the management console
because your computer runs one or more incompatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) versions.
 
Please uninstall all incompatible JRE versions (1.6 update 10 and greater). Uninstall the remote console, and then reinstall the remote console.

To use your existing JRE with limited console access, use Internet Explorer and enter the following URL: http://server01:8014/Reporting

I have checked around this site and it seems that one or two people have had this before, but it seems there is no solid solution.

Can anyone help?

Uninstall the java version and sepm console from add/remove programs

open IE

http://servername:9090
 

this will install java and also webconsole.

if you are on win7 or vista

right click on the console icon and select run as; check if that works.

Yep, that seemed to do the trick.  I had the wrong version of Java
