Hi and Happy New Year,

As a Christmas present to my laptop I desided to rebuild it as the system performance was very poor. I attempted to install the SEPM console using the address; https://servername:9090

Everything appeared to install correctly, however I'm now in a situation where I can not uninstall and therefore re-install the SEPM console as the following error message appears;

I have even completely uninstalled and re-installed Java but receive the same outcome.

I can, of course, access my SEPM via a web browser but would like a solution/

What version of java is this happening on? Are you running the latest?

I have tried using the links within the Symantec process and this version, I believe, is 7 Update 21

I have also gone to the Java download site, installed the latest version and performed the online verification.

Regardless if Java is installed or not I am still unable to uninstall SEPM. On any attempt I receive the above error.

Did you try cleanwipe tool for uninstall SEPM Webconsole or Control Panel ?

I've only tried uninstallation via the Control Panel, haven't tried cleanwipe. Would cleanwipe be a recommended process for removing the SEPM console?

Yes you can remove through Cleanwipe tool .

It's not going to remove the remote console

_Brian is right, Cleanwipe does not remove the SEPM Java console. I know because I've tried.

The remote console can be removed via add/remove programs

The plot thinkens.

It would appear that I have remnents of Java still on my system even though the application no longer appears in Programs and Features. I may have to wave the white flag and either live with the issue or rebuild my system from scratch.

One thing to note with java is when an upgrade to a new Java version is done, the old version is still left behind. You have to manually go in and do some reomval.

Very painful...

Have attepted to remove Java remnents via regedit..........however, more errors messages appear preventing deletion regardless whether I use a normal user account or a local admin account.

I think I'll just bit the bullet and live with it for now. Thanks.
