After solutions with this threath http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH124316 the error on "check enviroment" with VxValidatorOps.dll, now i have an error on Check enviroment with tapeinstdll.dll.

Try downloading another BE2010 R3 ISO

Hi,

Did you try running this patch? It refers to BE 2010 R1 and not R2 which is what you are using.

I'd recommend running a repair of BE 2010 R2 first from Add/Remove Programs. Once done, try the upgrade again...

Thanks!

I have BE 2010 R2 version installed, and if I repair, can i loose any dates?

I'm installing fixes for R2 and then I will try to update to R3.

Even if install fails you will not loose any data.

Before proceeding with repair install stop SQL server BKUPEXEC service and make a

copy of DATA and CATALOGS folder, located at X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec

...it depends. I've lost an entire BEDB due to a failed SQL Express installation so to say you won't lose data is a bit presumtuous. Always get copies of the mission-critical files of BE.

All the repair will do though, is fix the files that might be corrupted or missing in the installation itself.
