Error when connecting to GhostCast Server (GSS 2.5)
Created: 06 Jan 2010 | Updated: 17 Jul 2010 | 2 comments
I have created a multiple NIC boot CD using the latest drivers for our Dell systems (Broadcomm 57xx and various versions of Intel) as well as the latest Matrix storage drivers (in both cases the drivers were taken off their manufacturers' sites). The server is on one subnet, the systems are behind a router (that supports multicasting) that is on another one. When I am trying to upload an image (setting up the session on the server, booting the laptop off the WinPE-512 I’ve made and trying to join the session) right after I hit OK a ‘Connection reset by peer” box pops up on the server. (The client seems to be trying to establish a connection for about five more minutes and the result is the 10030 error). This happens no matter which mode I am choosing – unicast, (preferred choice since it’s one machine) direct broadcast (different subnets) and/or multicast (just to see if this one will work) I am using, and regardless if I choose the server’s lookup to be an automatic or manual (by typing its IP).
Below is an example log I have gotten today. Ideas?

Try just booting in to PE and runing the x:\ghost\ghost32.exe not joining a session

but I need to launch the session in order to pull the image off the server... I am getting the IP address (via DHCP) just fine. yes, I can run ghost by hand - with the same result as doing it automatically - nothing happens, and the server displays the "Connection reset by peer" box.
