  • 1.  error windows popup when outlook started

    Hello,

    Do you have any other solution besides delete 'extend.dat' file for below error ?

     

    'The Add-in "Symantec Antivirus Outlook Protection" (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.6608.6300.105\Bin\vpmsece.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in.'

    Have you tried running a repair on the client or just doing a re-install?

    What version of Outlook and how many clients are affected?

    never tried anything , i just wanted to give another solution besides delete that 'extend.dll' file. 

    outlook 2007 and one user only .

    Here is Symantec's official article on it:

    After installing Symantec Endpoint Protection, Microsoft Outlook displays an add-in error dialog

    Unfortunately, there is only two possible solutions that have been identified.
