Hi everybody,

I would try to synchronize my ESM console with my local database  (MS Access).
But the synchronization interrupt with error ("Syntax error (missing operator) in expression") and I can't get all data.
I get the same error when I try to store all module message!

maybe do you have an idea to help me?

kind regards
Bruthe

Hi Bruth, I suspect it is

Hi Bruth,

I suspect it is the problem with the data. In my lab I tried to reproduce your problem but could not do so.
Is any of your agent name consists of special characters like quotes? If special characters are present then such problem can arise while using MS Access Insert statement.

Please check synchronization of smaller subset of data where special characters are not present.

Regards,
Anjali

Hi Anjali the agent name are

Hi Anjali
the agent name are not composed of specials characters!
However I noticed that the sync blocks still on the same policy / job (visible in the status bar).
This policy / job is visible on the agent , but it is not visible in policy run!
is what the problem might come from there?

Thank you
Damien

Anjali,

FYI:

I say that synchronization bloqued always on the same agent, I removed this agent from the manager, and now the sync blocks on another agent.
ironically I think that if I delete all the agents, the synchronization will work!

Have you an idea?

Thanks

Anjali,

I have an another question for you:
when I click on an agent in summary branch, I see for example 2 policy. The icon of one policy is gray! Why?
In addition, this policy cause a problem to synchronize data with access.

Thanks
Damien

Hello Bruth, Thanks for the

Hello Bruth,

Thanks for the additional information.
In ESM grey color of polcy indicates that the data is not available for any of the modules in that policy.
Is that the case with your policies?  Check if this feature was working at your site before applying SU 36 to narrow down the problem.

One more suggestion is on the manager size there is a utility called Ciffix.exe
Run this utility on manager then update the domain information on console and then try database synchronization. It may solve your problem.

If you think, there is no problem with data or any of the external entity like large file size of mdb then please log the ticket with tech support so that it wil be addressed by engineering team.

Thanks a lot
Anjali

Anjali, Data are available

Anjali,

Data are available for all policy (grey color too).
Unfortunately my manager work on Solaris, I think it's dificult to run Ciffix.exe ;-)

Thanks

Hi Anjali,

I have fixed the problem.
FYI: It's due to special character (") in the domain name.

I have renamed the domain and suppress all policy run s on these domains, and now it's works

Thanks
