ESX4 with local RAID array - hosted Exchange backup and BE2k10

Hi everybody.
One of my customer has the most stuppidy configuration of vmware i ever seen.
They got 2x esx4 with no external storage, only local Raids arrays (raid5 ), so datastores are locally.
They cant use VMware native Failovers and clustering options, and as a backupsolution I cant use Vstorage API and new BE functionality.
How i can make consistent hosted exchange backup without installing server agent inside Windows VM?
Earlier  I was using ghettovcbscript, but never for exchange
http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8760
but in that scenario i have to prepare some NFS share, so another Linux hardware box should be configured, i prefer dont do that, administrators there are Windows fans, and another server hardware is needed.
The question is how to make proper backup in that situation using BE?
If best choice is ghettovcb will it be enought for consistent app backup?
My idea is make backup by ghettovcb (its not offhost backup, it will stress esx), after that backup all ghetto files by BE  from NFS share.
Is there other, better ways???
What about exhcange consistency in that case?

Best Regards
BM

You can use vstorage, by backing up via NBD in BE2010.  Traffic will be sent over the service console ports since there is no SAN.
And there is no VCB anymore in BE2010 that is supported, as Vmware is not supporting it anymore.

The agent must reside in the guest for the VSS snapshot to work properly.  However, 95% of the backup ditues are handled by the vStorage API's, the remaining transfer is the agent collecting and sending meta data related to the backup image and GRT.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."
