EV 8.0 Opinions. Archive Explorer better?

This issue has been solved. See solution.
Afternoon all,
We have just virtualised our EV environment, and upgraded to the latest service pack available on 7.5 (SP5). We have gone from 70% of our support incidents to our Email support team down to perhaps 5%.
Although we have drastically improved the infrastructure of EV, there are now questions about the functionality of EV Explorer. Spoken via service delivery managers our end-users do not like the functionality of EV Explorer. We are still waiting for full details, but I think from what we have heard so far the users would like a preview panel for archived messages; probably a interface more like that in native Outlook.
Does version 8.0 improve the user experience in Archive Explorer?
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
Jeremy.

Do you not use shortcuts? Do your users have to use archive explorer?
Cheers

Hi, One of the next Service
Hi,
One of the next Service packs for EV8 should contain a succesor for Archive Explorer.
Roadmap talks about 'Virtual Vault', which will be integrated into your Outlook interface the way PST files are at this moment. In this case, you will see your current mailbox and your archive inside your Outlook interface .
So, in the future you wiil no longer need to use archive explorer go get a visual on your archive content, just use the 'virtual vault' inside Outlook. However, it seems that Archive Explorer will still remain as an EV feature for all other archives (FSA, SharePoint, ...)

Thanks...
Thanks Guys for your comments! :)
One of the things were are looking at with EV at the moment is removing stubs after 6 months. A counter arguement for this is the poor user experience inside Archive Explorer. So I was interested to find out with version 8.0 if there were improvements.
It's very interesting to know that one of the service packs for 8.0 should contain it. I think SP1 for 8.0 is already out there in the wild.
Thanks again,
Jeremy.

Preview pane in Archive Explorer???
@ Tony Sterling.
Hi Tony,
Sorry I do not actualy use EV myself, so do not know if this is a stupid question. Is there an option the user can use to open / display the preview pane? Or is this something as an admin I would have to enable?
Thank you.
Jeremy.

Jeremy You can do this as
Jeremy
You can do this as User:
Go into Archive Explorer, Select a Folder with Mails in it, right click on a Mail -> Display Options -> Preview Pane
If you then reload Archive Explorer, you should see the Preview Pane below the Mail listing.
Cheers

Thanks very much MichaelZ. I
Thanks very much MichaelZ.
I don't want to take the wind out of your sails as I am really grateful thus far. However I know the question is going to come to me before I even submit this to our business customers. Can this be done en-mass or does it have to be done through the interface user-by-user?
I have seen several people on the internet mention the webapp.ini file, although from EV version 6.0 these settings appear no longer under supported.
Thanks again,
Jeremy.
