EV 9 and OWA
Created: 15 Nov 2012 | 7 comments
Hi, We have been running EV9 with Exchange 2003 for a year now. This week we noticed that our OWA users can no longer open archived email and there are no EV buttons on OWA. When users attempt to open archvied email, a blank page appears. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I would suspect at some point that an OWA / Exchange patch has been applied which has changed the control file versions.
Easiest way is to check your folder structure and see what the latest version of the control files are, versus the ones where the modified file are .. Can you screenshot that?
Many Thanks,
Rob

Hello Rob, apologies for the late reply. The screenshots are below, hopefully I've included the correct folders.
Thanks, Derrick
From the time stamp of your files it seems you just need to re-run the EV OWA configuration so it can update the views.

Well... the tricky bit here ...
In my EXCHWEB folder I have a folder called :-
6.5.7638.1
In there I have two folders:
Controls
Controls-originals copied by Enterprise Vault
From the name of your folder in your screenshot I'd say there was some 'manual' action / intervention which has been going on in the past. Tread carefully, but yeah, follow the OWA installation instructions in the documentation.
Many Thanks,
Rob

You can refer to this:
Enterprise Vault buttons disappear from the Outlook Web Access (OWA) toolbar after a Microsoft Exchange 2003 update / hotfix installation.

Thanks Rob. My Controls folder only has two files - pdec.htc and pdec.js. I'll run through the OWA installation again.
I've re-rn the installation but stil no joy. I'll log a call with Symantec.
