Dear Members

I have a strange problem related with EV email archival. For your understanding i will explain the current setup

Enterprise Vault Server OS :  Windows 2008 Enterprise R2 (x64)
      ·    No. of  EV Servers : 2 Server  (Windows Cluster)
      ·    Enterprise Vault Server Version :  9.03
      ·    Outlook Version on EV :  2007 SP2
      ·    No. of Exchange Servers :  2 in DAG
      ·    Exchange Server Version (2003/2007/2010) : 2010
      ·    SQL Version :  SQL Server 2008 R2
      ·    Cluster info. (If Present )  :  Windows Cluster
      ·    Storage Type/Version/Mode:  EMC VNX 5300
      ·    Deployment Scanner Run :  Successfully

When i try to archive a mail manually from Outlook  , mail does get archive. But orignal item does not get deleted and shourcut is also missing . Need help on this

Settings :

Vault Store : Delete orignal immediately after archive

Using basic setting for Shortcut creation using custom option.

did not check the delete shorcut option too.

ANy help will be apprciated.

On the mailbox policy tab

On the mailbox policy tab 'Archiving Actions' do you have 'Create shortcut to archived item after archiving' ticked?

Could you post a screen shot of this page from the policy?

Cheers

does scheduled archiving (or

does scheduled archiving (or run now) give the results you expect? is the issue only with manual archiving?

can you provide the information that karl is asking for along with a client trace?

Have you tried failing over

Have you tried failing over the cluster to see if that works?

Items not being manually archived could be the client or the server, the best way to isolate which one it is is to see if this problem affects one or all users. If it's all users then check MSMQ on the server and that the storage you are using is available.

As stated, a client trace will help greatly.

message class?

Sometimes (although more rarely) the message class gets messed up . . .you may also want to sort by type to ensure that it is not a shortcut and the icon is just not showing as well.

This sort of issue falls inline with the "attachments will not retrieve" when in most occasions all items are not retrievalble . . just attachments are noted as being problematic,

that and the very useful information that is requested above. . .logs are great.
