This issue has been solved. See solution.

Are you aware of any issue while installing EV on a VM (W2k8) based on Hyper-V 2012? Normally, there should be no problem, but I was just wondering if any of you implemented it so far?

Also, I know that SQL 2012 is supported starting with EV 10.0.2. Any idea whether the fact that it is built on Windows 2012 could give any problems on the EV side. Of course, it shouldn't but again I'm wondering if anyone has already come across with similar situation.

Thanks in advance!

EV on a Virtual Machine like you described should be fine. You might want to look for the VMWare EV Guide, and, interprete that for Hyper-V.

SQL 2012 on any OS is okay - in other words the OS for the SQL Server doesn't matter.

Enterprise Vault and SQL works as far as OS family is supported.

Symantec recently changed their approach to VMs in general. They say if the virtualization platform supports the OS that EV requires, then everything else is fine.

This is from the latest compatibility guide:

"Enterprise Vault supports the use of all virtualization technologies that run supported versions of the Windows operating system. When you deploy Enterprise Vault on virtual servers, you should consider the
performance limitations of each virtualization platform relative to the information in the Enterprise Vault Performance Guide. See technical note TECH125795 at"

By the way, I also heard that Symantec will soon release a Hyper-V Best Practices document.
