EV Licencing Grhhh
Hello there
Wondered if someone with real knowledge can help me - we origionally brought Enterprise Vault when it was KVS - Version 5 I think it was so we have come a long way since then.
We origionally brought licences for Exchange Mailbox archiving and Journal archiving for 2000 mailboxes, now as you can imagine we have grown, I have recently gone to our preffered software vendor to incease the number of corporate users and add some academic users but am being quoted for teh following:-
Vault Storage Mgmt Advanced Edition Per User Std Licence
Vault Storage Mgmt Advanced User Initial Basic Licence
E Discovery standard Edition Win per User Standard Licence
E discovery standard Edition User Initial Basic Licence.
What is all this on about when I just want to incease teh number of licenced users on the system and add some adademic users - can someone please explain as the bill is coming out at over 20 grand to add 500 users
Many thanks
Pat

same here...
As of version 8, journal archiving is changed.
If you want to archive a journal mailbox, you have to get licenses for the amount of mailboxes that are being journaled. DA is INCLUDED in that license. (expensive)
It is difficult to seperate it......

Thats weird When i renewed my licenses Journaling and DA are seperate which differs from what Gertjan is saying.
Maybe they are offering different licensing in Europe
I got EV Journaling for exchange per user
Discovery accelerator per user
Storage management advanced for exchange (this is for Public Folder Archiving)

renewal is different
What happened here is that we already have mailboxarchiving, but wanted to have journal archiving. Apparently, that does not sell seperately anymore. (for NEW licenses). I do believe that for renewal (existing licenses) the package stays the same (ie journaling and DA seperately)

It might be worth calling us
It might be worth calling us direct or perhaps clarifying the situation with your preferred vendor. It may be that they are only able to offer the default packaged licences
